Geisel Library is a renowned university library located in the heart of the campus. It is highly recommended to incoming and returning students as well as tourists for its stunning architecture and varied hours around midterms or finals. With both lower floors and eight floors above ground, each with a different purpose, this library offers plenty of study spaces for every type of learner. The librarians and archivists are friendly and ever ready to help with any inquiries. Archival collections are great, and the Geisel displays on the first floor are always worth exploring. The library is also unique for the way it's divided into zones based on noise levels, ensuring that each visitor has their preferred environment to work in. Students can enjoy the beautiful view from the 6th floor or visit the iconic Dr. Seuss statue on the way to Library Walk. The library even has its own cafe with cosy sitting areas. The prices are not applicable as it is a university library and provides services to students and faculty members for free.

Librarians and archivists here were helpful. There are plenty of study spaces for different kinds learners, whether you want noise, silence, or a treadmill desk. 8th floor has recently been remodeled and the view from the 6th floor is amazing. The archival collections are great and the Geisel displays out on the first floor was interesting to explore.

The main hub for library visits on campus. Architecturally stunning, Geisel is where most undergraduates go to study. There are both lower floors and eight floors above ground each with different purposes. Around the area, one can see the Dr. Seuss statue as well as the view to Library Walk. Varied hours around midterms or finals weeks. Highly recommend to incoming (or returning) students and tourists!

And experience I think everyone should have, heard about this place online and wanted to come see it for myself. Did not disappoint… was able to hangout and look at the selection of books they have to offer and found many that peaked my interest. Stop by if you have the chance or are coming out this way!

The library is absolutely amazing. It’s very organized, and has a space for everyone and even a nice cafe with comfortable sitting areas. Unique for: 1- the architecture is exceptional 2-it’s divided into “zones” depending on how quite the area is .. and they take it very seriously! 3- yes it’s a library, but you can have food and drink inside (most of the areas) and that’s very convenient if you’re going there to study for long periods of time or on your lunch break.

What a absolutely beautiful library!! The entire campus was gorgeous and the architecture was to die for. Even though we weren’t able to go inside, I would recommend checking this awesome place out for some great pictures!

Absolutely incredible library. Beautiful collections and even more beautiful architecture. Geisel is the crown Jewel of UCSD's campus in more ways than one. Be sure to (quietly) take in the views from the 6th floor and above!
